The Real Estate Due Date has passed

Real Estate tax payments were due on March 10th. Payments can still be made but MUST be made by mail or in-person at our office. Local banks will not accept late payments and we are not able to accept payments online until the tax collection has been settled with the auditor.

1st HALF 2024 RE TAX BILLS HAVE BEEN MAILED

2024 tax bills have been printed and mailed out.  The due date for real estate tax bills is March 10th, 2025.

Payment can be made on this website in our payment portal.  Payment can also be made using the “QR” code on the bill itself.

The following area financial institutions will also accept your full half-year payment at their Athens County branches only, if you have your bill with you:

  • People’s Bank
  • OU Credit Union
  • Merchant’s Bank
  • Atomic Credit Union
  • Hocking Valley Bank
  • First National Bank of McConnelsville (East State St Branch ONLY)

Payments may also be mailed to the Treasurer’s office at: 15 S. Court Street, RM334, Athens, OH 45701

We accept payments in-person at the office from 8am-4pm weekdays, excluding holidays.
